Membership and Training

You first must make an application to the committee to become a OGSA member. If accepted, membership is probationary for a minimum of six months. Membership fees are due and payable pro rata from 1st July. A concession may apply for eligible seniors and juniors or family members residing at the same address as an Ordinary member. Cheque/MO to be made payable to OGSA Inc. or direct credit to OGSA at P&N Bank BSB 806-015 Account No.01923302 and must include your name and invoice number (if available). The nomination fee (A$100) must accompany this application and is non-refundable.

Before you can aquire your FAL (Firearms Licence) for a handgun, you are required to complete a 12 week firearms training course. Membership of OGSA requires completion of the training course. This course is limited to those who have submitted their nomination forms and paid the associated fees (these can be paid at the first session). Once you have successfully passed the training course, to maintain your firearms support from the club, you must attend a club match and submit a match score once every 8 weeks. This firearms support from the club assists you in licensing for firearms with the Western Australian Police Force.
